Famichiki Expenses

The following is a summary of our current expenses. While costs vary slightly from month to month, this represents a reasonable estimate for planning the coming year.

Our primary expenses are hosting-related: Conoha hosts the main Mastodon instance and a worker node, while Vultr hosts search functionality and Pixelfed. Additional costs include domain registration and email hosting.

One of our goals for the coming year is to migrate services from Vultr to a yen-denominated provider, which should further reduce costs.

At present, our recurring monthly donations do not fully cover our monthly expenses. However, this has not posed a problem, as we have received sufficient one-time donations to offset the difference.

In sum, we are working to implement cost-savings on account of the weak yen, and we have enough cash on hand and recurring donation to operate for at least 2 years. Overall, our financial footing is solid, though we do need more recurring donations or more one-time donations.
